Barie ships on a calendar release, and every release is written up the same way: what is new, what got better, what was fixed, and what a deployment already running has to do about it. Nothing is described as an improvement without saying what it improves.

How releases work

You own the deployment, so you own the upgrade window.

Barie runs inside your perimeter. That means a release is something you take, not something that happens to you on a Tuesday morning.

A dated release with the full change list, the migration notes and the signed artefacts, on the schedule below.

Verified

Your team runs it against your own staging tenant, with your own connectors and your own data. We do not need access to do this and we do not ask for it.

Scheduled

You pick the window. Security releases carry a recommended date; nothing installs itself.

Reversible

Every release ships with the rollback path tested, and the audit trail spans the version change so an investigation is not cut in half by an upgrade.

    Cross-source resolution, rewritten

    Entity resolution now runs at query time against the live systems rather than against a nightly index, so an answer about a customer reflects the record as it was a second ago, not as it was at 02:00.

    • NewResolution keys can be defined per source, so an ERP customer number and a CRM account id resolve to one entity without a mapping table anyone has to maintain.
    • NewQuery-time joins across warehouse, ERP and content sources, executed under the caller's own grants on each.
    • BetterMedian resolution latency down 41% on the reference 4,000-user deployment.
    • BetterConflicting values are now surfaced with both sources shown rather than silently resolved to the newer one.
    • FixedRecords with more than one valid legal name no longer split into two entities during reconciliation.

    Scheduled tasks, browser use and the desktop app

    Three things that were features inside other features became their own surfaces, because that is how people were already using them.

    • NewScheduled tasks promoted out of Agents: a schedule, a window, a failure policy and a record of every unattended run.
    • NewBrowser use operates sites that have no API, under a named session, with each action written to the audit trail.
    • NewDesktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux, talking to your own deployment and to nothing else.
    • BetterAgent runs can now be paused and resumed across a restart without losing intermediate state.
    • FixedLong-running runs no longer lose their citation chain when a source connector reconnects mid-run.

    Auditor mode, and a smaller trusted surface

    Everything an auditor asked for in the first three deployments, made a first-class part of the product instead of a services engagement.

    • NewAuditor mode: a read-only role that can replay any run, see every retrieval and every write, and export the trail without seeing the underlying document bodies.
    • NewSigned, append-only audit export in a documented format, so the trail can live in your own SIEM.
    • BetterThe inference tier no longer requires outbound DNS at all. Default-deny networks need no exception.
    • BetterSecrets for connectors are held in your own vault; Barie stores a reference, never a credential.
    • FixedWrite previews now render the exact payload that will be sent, including fields populated by defaults.

    Presentations, visualisations and the statistics behind them

    Two output formats that people were producing by hand from Barie's answers, brought inside so the method travels with the artefact.

    • NewAI presentations: outline, slides, speaker notes and charts, on your own template.
    • NewData visualisations with the statistical method shown, not just the picture.
    • NewEvery chart carries its series back to the query that produced it.
    • BetterDeck generation respects brand typography and colour tokens supplied as a theme file.
    • FixedAxis labels no longer collide on time series shorter than six points.

    Model routing you can audit

    Routing stopped being an implementation detail and became a decision with a record attached, because in a regulated deployment it is one.

    • NewPer-task routing policy: which model tier, which fine-tune, and which of them are allowed to see which classifications.
    • NewRouting decisions written to the audit trail with the reason recorded alongside.
    • BetterSmall-model routing for routine steps cut inference cost on the reference deployment by just over half.
    • FixedA fine-tuned model marked unavailable now falls back within its own tier rather than to the largest one.
